WELCOME TO HOMELESS YOUTH SERVICES! We provide emergency shelter and drop-in services to homeless LGBTQ youth in New York City. A 2007 report from the Empire State Coalition of Youth & Family Services, 35-40% of homeless and runaway youth in the city identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. An additional 10% chose not not to identify their gender. In New York City, this means that something like 7,000 youth are without shelter every night and there are only 75 beds for them. This has led many to refer to this as an "epidemic" of homelessness among LGBTQ youth. Find out more...
